Overnight on January 22, 31.8 thousand cubic meters of snow were removed from the streets of Saint Petersburg. Sergey Petrichenko, chairman of the city«s Urban Improvement Committee, called on car owners to assist in the work by moving their vehicles to already cleared areas.

Snow removal in Saint Petersburg involves hundreds of machines and workers to clear roads after winter storms.

For clearing snowdrifts, the following were deployed:

  • 916 units of special equipment;
  • 8 small-scale machinery units;
  • 388 manual labor specialists.
The parking management center coordinates with authorities to relocate vehicles and facilitate street cleaning operations.

In addition, 21 teams were on duty, each consisting of a loader, two dump trucks, and three workers.

In his Telegram channel, Sergey Petrichenko appealed to residents: «Dear car owners!!! Please move your cars to cleared spots. Thank you for your help!»

Assistance in freeing up the street-road network is provided by the Parking Management Center. For example, today its staff helped clear Tverskaya Street of parked vehicles.

Current information on street cleaning schedules and ice removal from roofs is published on the official website parking.spb.ru.
