Udmurtia Resident Faces Up to 4 Years for Giving Teen Alcohol

In Udmurtia, a republic in Russia, a criminal case has been initiated against a 46-year-old resident of the village of Chur in the Yakshur-Bodinsky district for supplying alcohol to a schoolgirl. This was reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD).
According to the ministry, the violation was detected by a local police officer during preventive work. He found that a 14-year-old student from the Yakshur-Bodinsky school systematically consumes alcohol, and not alone, but with her 46-year-old acquaintance. The woman bought alcoholic beverages and consumed them with the girl in public places.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 151 of the Russian Criminal Code, «Involving a minor in systematic consumption (drinking) of alcohol and alcohol-containing products.» As noted by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Udmurt Republic, the crime carries a penalty of up to 4 years in prison.
The issue of placing the minor on a police register is also currently being decided.
