«Here, the anniversary year of Tyumen was solemnly opened — it will be 440 years old. Many people gathered, representatives from universities, they had flags. There were officials, schoolchildren. The stage was fenced off. On it, city head Maxim Afanasyev, singers, and dancers performed,» said photographer Irina Sharova from 72.RU, who was present at the event.

Next, a torch was brought out, taken by two young men, who boarded a double-decker bus that drove through the city. The ceremonial part concluded with fireworks.

Earlier, we reported that the upcoming summer celebration will be large-scale and unusual. Details were shared by city head Maxim Afanasyev. A stage will be set up on the Tura River, and several artists will be invited. There will also be fireworks — but not only that. According to the authorities« plans, a festival was supposed to take place.
