The main works on the Nevsko-Vasileostrovskaya line of the St. Petersburg metro are entering the final stretch. Dmitry Vasilyev, General Director of Metrostroy of the Northern Capital, reported that the tunneling to the Kamienka station will be completed between the end of February and the beginning of March next year.
Dmitry Vasilyev stated: «We have begun and are carrying out construction in the active phase and the development of the pit for the Yachtennaya station (Bogatyrskaya. — Ed.), the enclosing structures are completed. The tunneling, as I previously stated and said, we must finish by the end of February — early March 2026. That is, the tunnel is essentially already constructed. Next, we will open up the station complexes themselves and make monolithic structures. This line is not deep. Essentially, we will develop it from the surface and perform monolithic and subsequent finishing works.»
Simultaneously, construction is underway on the section of the Krasnoselsko-Kalininskaya line from Putilovskaya to Karetnaya. To date, from the Putilovskaya station, two single-track tunnels have been laid, and from Karetnaya — one.
At the end of 2025, the first section of the brown metro line from Yugo-Zapadnaya to Putilovskaya was opened. Previously, St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov reported to the president about the commissioning of seven new stations in recent years.
