Donald Trump reported that he is fully informed about the disappearance of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie in Tucson and is absolutely ready to consider sending additional federal assistance. The president called the woman«s disappearance strange and confirmed that he has a good relationship with her daughter, TV host Savannah Guthrie, whom he plans to call within the day.

At a press conference Tuesday, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said his department is processing numerous leads but has no new information. FBI Special Agent John Edwards, also present at the briefing, confirmed that federal authorities are involved in the investigation.
Around the same time, according to media reports, a suspected ransom note was received, specifying a specific amount and key details. This information was passed to law enforcement.
While President Trump has already expressed willingness to consider federal help, Democratic Senator from Arizona Ruben Gallego took a more cautious stance. He sent words of support to the family but made clear that politicians should not interfere in law enforcement matters as long as the police are doing their job effectively.
