Donald Trump’s name appeared more than a thousand times in a new release of documents related to the Jeffrey Epstein case. According to one of the unsealed materials, a confidential source claimed that the businessman met with the convicted criminal in spring 2015 — just before announcing the start of his presidential campaign.
The informant alleged Epstein served as a wealth manager for Putin and Mugabe.

In an FBI memo dated December 13, 2017, published by the Department of Justice, the names of Trump and former President Bill Clinton were mentioned together. According to media reports, the source told FBI agents in November 2017 that «Epstein knew former President Bill Clinton and was very close with current President Donald Trump.» The same person stated that «in spring 2015, President Trump was at his villa for lunch.»
The White House said the latest allegations against Trump have no real basis.

This date is much later than when Trump himself said their communication ended. He announced his candidacy in June 2015 in New York. In July 2025, Trump stated that he had previously kicked Epstein out of his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida. It is believed that their paths diverged back in the early 2000s, before Epstein’s first indictment in 2006.
The released files include mentions of various high-profile individuals.
The same informant made other sensational claims. He reported that Epstein was a wealth manager for «two infamous world dictators» — Russian President Vladimir Putin and Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe. The source also alleged that the financier «had compromising material on other people» and amassed his fortune by helping clients hide money in offshore accounts.
An archival photo of Trump and Epstein together was included in the December 2025 document release.

The White House dismissed these allegations as baseless. A press secretary said they were «nothing more than a false accusation with no real foundation.» The Department of Justice previously noted that among the published materials are «untrue and sensational claims» against Trump, made to the FBI ahead of the 2020 election, and that these assertions are «unfounded and false.»
In December 2025, Trump’s chief of staff Susie Wiles described their past relationship in a more temperate tone. She said they met in the late 1990s in New York and Palm Beach social circles. «They were, you know, young, bachelors... sort of young bachelors together,» Wiles said, adding that in the documents Trump appears not in connection with any horrific acts. Trump himself has previously claimed he was not friends with Epstein and never visited his private island.
