Trump Exonerated by Epstein Files; Lawmakers Seek Full Release

Donald Trump stated that newly published Justice Department documents related to the Jeffrey Epstein investigation «exonerate» him.

According to media reports, Trump is mentioned more than 1,000 times in approximately three million pages released on Friday. The documents contain no new serious allegations against him, despite his past acquaintance with Epstein, with whom he reportedly later fell out.

However, the publication has renewed demands from lawmakers and survivor victims to release the full set of documents.

Previously, Trump called for the disclosure of Epstein-related files in 2024 and promised to do so if elected. Later, he dismissed the documents as a «fake» organized by Democrats to distract from his political successes.
Attorney General Pam Bondi informed Congress that Friday«s disclosure signifies the »end« of the government»s efforts to uphold the law. This claim drew sharp criticism from Democrats, who stated that most of the records remain hidden.
Robert Garcia, a senior Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, said that the Trump administration is still concealing about half of the files. He called this outrageous and concerning.
Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer also accused the Justice Department of misleading the public about the number of pages published.
Epstein«s victims issued a joint statement condemning the publication as dangerous rather than transparent. They said it reveals the identities of survivors while their abusers remain hidden.
The newly released files also show Epstein«s interactions with other notable figures, including Prince Andrew, Bill Gates, and Elon Musk, in some cases after Epstein»s conviction for sex crimes. Trump also appears in the records, although many allegations are described as unverified or not investigated by the FBI. Some documents with shocking claims about Trump were briefly posted online on Friday and then removed from the Justice Department website.
