Tolyatti's Central Square to get artificial hills and illuminated fountain

In Tolyatti, preparations have begun for a large-scale renovation of the city«s only square — it is located in the Central District near the Abramov Palace of Culture. The comprehensive improvement works will start next year on the initiative of Samara Region Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev.
«A fountain, new pedestrian zones, and green areas will appear on the square. The area will be transformed using geoplastics* to create an interesting relief, and modern lighting and street furniture will be installed. The project«s funding consists of several parts: contributions from benefactors, funds from the regional and city budgets. Currently, the project documentation is undergoing state examination», the regional government reported.
*Geoplastics is the artificial alteration of terrain: creating hills, slopes, terraces, and other earth forms for beauty and practical purposes.
The works are divided into three stages. The first preparatory works — dismantling old structures and organizing the construction site — are planned for February 2026.
Recently, on Tolyatti«s Central Square, a fair that had irritated residents for many years was demolished. This year, for the New Year holidays, an illuminated ice fortress in the traditional Russian style was installed. For the town in the auto city, tons of transparent ice were brought.
