Tolyatti Rescue Service: 20,000 Saved Over 26 Years
The Tolyatti Rescue Service is celebrating 26 years of work. During this time, specialists have responded to over 73,000 calls and provided assistance to 19,575 people. To illustrate this scale, the service head Andrey Derbenev gives vivid comparisons.
The saved citizens would be enough to:
Fill more than 3 halls of «Lada-Arena».
Populate 51 sixteen-story buildings.
Fill 244 Soviet Tu-134 aircraft or 109 modern Boeing 737s.
Form a chain 27 kilometers long — that«s more than the population of the Italian resort Sorrento or a third of the residents of Zhigulyovsk.
«On this day, I want to express my gratitude to my employees for their work and contribution to our city»s life,« said Derbenev.
He also thanked colleagues — ambulance doctors, police officers, and firefighters, with whom rescuers work shoulder to shoulder daily.
The service head appealed to city residents with a request:
«Take care of yourselves and help each other. Do not be indifferent and do not pass by people who need help.»
