Three schools in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast to be built by 2028

In Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, over 3 billion rubles (approximately $33.3 million at current rates) will be allocated for the construction of three schools. The educational institutions will appear in Chkalovsk, Lyskovo, and Volodarsk and must be built by 2028. Currently, tenders are underway to select contractors.

• In Volodarsk, a school for 500 students will be built on Volodarsky Street. The contract is valued at 985.3 million rubles (approximately $10.9 million at current rates), with completion scheduled by June 1, 2028.
• In Lyskovo, a school for 550 students will be built on Minin Street. The contract cost is 1.07 billion rubles (approximately $11.9 million at current rates), and work must be completed by August 1, 2028.
• In Chkalovsk, an educational institution for 725 people will appear on Lenin Street. Its construction is estimated at 1.04 billion rubles (approximately $11.6 million at current rates) and must be finished by May 31, 2028.

The winners of the tenders are planned to be determined in February. Governor Gleb Nikitin mentioned the plans for school construction at the end of 2025 during a direct line with residents. The works will be financed under the state program «Comprehensive Development of Rural Territories».
