‘They Just Hang Up’: Volgograd Building Without Water for Four Days
Residents of building No. 9 on Lodygina Street have been forced to survive without hot and cold water for the fourth day. As they say, no one is providing water delivery, and at the management company, residents face ignorance and hung-up calls. Meanwhile, «Water Supply Concessions» deny their involvement in the water absence.
As told to V1.RU by the son of one of the residents of the emergency building— Lodygina, 9, the water disappeared suddenly and since then there has been no information on when it will be restored.
— I«m not even talking about washing or simply drinking— for four days, there»s nothing to flush the toilet with. I have to bring water to my mom every day. The administration promises to bring water, but in the end, nothing. In the management company, for days on the hotline, they don«t pick up the phone, and when you do get through, they say: »We don«t know why there»s no water, we«ll pass it on to the superiors.» And that«s it, they hang up. In such frosts, the absence of water is an emergency. Moreover, it was cut off without warning. Okay, if they had said, we could have stored some, but people have been without a drop of water suddenly for four days.
A V1.RU correspondent attempted to call the emergency service of the management company «Zhemchuzhina», but for several minutes only beeps were heard, and a couple of times a robotic voice announced that all operators were busy, but the call was very important to them.
The V1.RU editorial also contacted «Water Supply Concessions» with a question about the reasons for the water absence at the address, but the utility workers assured that they had not suspended the supply of cold and hot water.
Also, the editorial inquired with the Volgograd administration about what is related to the water shutdown in building No. 9 on Lodygina Street and why delivery is not being provided. Later, the mayor«s office responded that the situation is under control.
— According to data provided by the managing organization, to eliminate previously identified damage on intra-house networks, specialists are currently conducting work to replace the damaged section of the intra-house cold water supply system. Upon completion of the work, the provision of utility resources to all residential premises will be restored. The progress of the work is under the control of the administration of the Traktorozavodsky district.
Recall that recently in the north of Volgograd, residents of an entire block reported a week-long absence of cold water. City residents accused the authorities of inaction, asserting that due to the peculiarities of apartment buildings, they were deprived not only of cold but also hot water. In turn, all structures somehow involved in water supply assured that there were no bursts or shutdowns in the houses.
