Today, January 29, at 6:32 a.m., an emergency occurred at the Kurgan thermal power plant. Because of this, electricity and water were cut off in the homes of Kurgan residents.

«At Krasina 77, there»s no water and the radiators are barely warm. Is everything okay with everyone? Maybe something happened only to us?« a resident wrote in one of the building»s chat groups.

«At Stantsionnaya 12, water is trickling out, and the radiators are also barely warm,» another replies.

«They cut off both cold and hot water without warning, I»m running around the apartment looking for water reserves,« a resident from Vostochny complains in another chat.

The press service of the company «Vodny Soyuz» explained that due to the power supply limitation, the operation of pumps at the Arbinsky water intake was temporarily stopped. Within an hour, the facilities were switched to a backup power source, and electricity was restored to most Kurgan residents« homes within an hour.

The causes of the incident are being investigated. Currently, restoration work is underway in the microdistricts «Severny» and «Energitiki». They plan to return to normal operation by 9:00.
