The Coldest Month: Weather in Yaroslavl Through End of January

Meteorologists have issued a weather forecast for Yaroslavl through the end of January.

In 2026, January has been the coldest month since the start of winter. Specialists from the Phobos center noted that in the Central Federal District, air temperatures have reached -30°C (-22°F). By the end of January, meteorologists predict a slight warming, after which frosts will return.

As experts clarify, the cold is felt most strongly in the morning.

«Under anticyclonic, calm, and relatively clear weather conditions, the lowest air temperature is most often recorded close to sunrise,» shared the meteorologists.

Weather Forecast for Yaroslavl Through End of Month

Sunday, January 25. Partly cloudy weather with moderate southwest wind is expected. Air temperature — from -13 to -15°C (9 to 5°F). At night, pressure will exceed the norm, and temperature will drop to between -18 and -20°C (0 to -4°F);
Monday, January 26. Due to increased pressure, variable cloudiness is expected. Moderate south wind is promised. During the day, air temperature will remain at from -13 to -15°C (9 to 5°F);
Tuesday, January 27. There will be variable cloudiness and weak wind. Heavy fog and snowfall are expected. Air temperature at night will stay at from -10 to -12°C (14 to 10°F), and during the day it will become warmer — from -7 to -9°C (19 to 16°F).
Wednesday, January 28. Variable cloudiness with heavy snow and fog will persist. Moderate east wind is promised. Air temperature at night — from -15 to -17°C (5 to 1°F), during the day — from -7 to -9°C (19 to 16°F);
Thursday, January 29. Variable cloudiness, strong wind, and snowfalls are expected. Moderate northeast wind. Air temperature at night and during the day will remain from -8 to -10°C (18 to 14°F);
Friday, January 30. Variable cloudiness and light snow are forecast. Moderate north wind. At night, air temperature will be from -10 to -12°C (14 to 10°F), and during the day a cooling to from -13 to -15°C (9 to 5°F) is expected;
Saturday, January 31. Clear weather with moderate northeast wind is expected. However, the night will be cold. Air temperature will drop to between -24 and -26°C (-11 to -15°F), and during the day between -18 and -20°C (0 to -4°F) is promised.
