Temernik Closed as Counterfeit Distribution Channel

The Rostov market «Temernik» was closed, and Governor Yuri Slyusar stated that it was the largest channel for the sale of counterfeit products in southern Russia, threatening citizens« health.
«Yesterday this cluster, the largest in southern Russia, through which a huge amount of counterfeit and low-quality products passed, threatening the health and safety of residents, was closed. I believe that such measures should be continued. This is very important for the legalization of distribution channels,» Slyusar told State Duma deputies at parliamentary hearings.
However, according to the director of «Bely Temer» and «Pervy Temer» Shamil Karabashev, the closure is not related to the sale of illegal products, but to the lack of necessary documents from regulatory bodies. He claims that the markets have everything to meet sanitary and epidemiological requirements.
The suspension of work affected approximately 700 traders. Meanwhile, the neighboring market «Vostochny», located between «Bely Temer» and «Pervy Temer», continues to operate.
The closure was carried out based on executive documents from the Pervomaysky District Court. The operation involved bailiffs, police, and Rosgvardiya (the National Guard).
«The debtors have been served with the relevant procedural documents, and they have been warned of administrative and criminal liability in case of non-compliance with the court decision,» said the press service of the Main Directorate of the Federal Bailiff Service of Russia for the Rostov Region.
At the same time, police have not initiated criminal cases against the «Temernik» market.
«As for the »Temernik« market, we do not have any criminal cases in production regarding this matter,» said Yulia Odnorralova, deputy head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Rostov Region – head of the Investigative Department.
Bailiffs confirmed that the suspension of the markets« activities remains in place. Traders can retrieve their goods, but only under the supervision of bailiffs.
Recall that on January 28, Governor Yuri Slyusar announced the closure of «Temernik», calling it a «hotbed of crime, counterfeit goods, and illegal immigration.»
