Surveys started for new Teatralnaya metro station exit
The St. Petersburg design institute Metrogroekt has signed a contract for engineering and geodetic surveys for the construction of the first exit from the Teatralnaya metro station.
The contract, worth 458,000 rubles (approximately $6,100 at current rates), was executed on 16 January.
According to the terms, all work must be completed by 30 April of this year.
The documentation indicates that the surveys are being conducted for the design and subsequent construction of «vestibule No. 1 of the Teatralnaya station».
According to the previously approved planning project, this vestibule number one is to be located in Teatralny Square on the plot where the Rosneft gas station currently stands.
The second exit from the station, assigned number two, is planned to be built at the corner of Lermontovsky Prospekt and Dekabristov Lane.
Despite the approval of the project, its implementation has previously faced objections.
Opposition to construction on these sites came from both the company Rosneft and the administration of the household services building on Lermontovsky Prospekt, the building of which is planned to be demolished for the second vestibule.
However, the territory planning project was officially approved last year.
