After snowy weather and road closures, Stavropol faces another challenge — a G1 magnetic storm. According to forecasts from the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute (IKI) and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics (ISTP), geomagnetic activity will start increasing on February 5 around 21:00.

The storm«s peak will hit at midnight — at that time the magnetic storm will reach G1 level, which is considered weak but still noticeable for weather-sensitive people. The magnetosphere will remain in this state until 10 AM on February 6.
Then, instead of a sharp cut-off, there will be an «echo». Over the next day, residual fluctuations are possible, and the geomagnetic situation will fully stabilize only by February 8.
We advise paying close attention to your health during such periods: headaches, blood pressure spikes, fatigue, and sleep problems are possible — especially against the backdrop of already experienced weather stress.
