Street in central Voronezh to be closed for snow removal

Traffic on Bolshaya Streletskaya Street will be closed from 10 p.m. Monday, February 2 — this was announced by the Voronezh city hall. The restrictions are related to snow removal work. Passage on the section from Krasnykh Partizan Street to Stankevicha will be prohibited all night — until 6 a.m. Tuesday. Traffic police units will only allow motorists who live there. Last night, streets were also blocked in the center for clearing snow drifts.

As reported by the city administration, by Monday evening in Voronezh, a total of more than 2,400 cubic meters of snow had already been removed, and over the two weekends of January 31 and February 1 — over 30,000. Whether this is an anomaly or a normal winter was explained by Voronezh weather forecasters. Nevertheless, due to snowfall and cold in the region, the number of traffic accidents has sharply increased, and hundreds of schools have switched students to distance learning.
