According to forecasters, the weather will become milder over the weekend of January 24–25: during the day the temperature will approach zero and become slightly warmer. However, snowfall is expected, so a state of high alert has been declared in the region due to the weather.

Stavropol Krai Governor Vladimir Vladimirov said that he instructed the Ministry of Housing and Utilities (MinZhKKh) and the Ministry of Energy, as well as resource-supplying companies, to be on alert, monitor the situation on the roads, and respond promptly if necessary. The state of high alert will help quickly direct resources to address emergencies that may arise due to the weather.

Recall that Stavropol will start the day with snow on January 24. The daytime temperature will hold around 0 °C (32 °F), at night it will drop slightly below zero—down to -1 °C (30 °F). On Sunday, January 25, precipitation will continue—snow is forecast in the morning and evening. During the day again around 0 °C (32 °F), at night—down to -1 °C (30 °F). The situation is similar in the KMV (the Caucasian Mineral Waters region). Due to possible snowfall, driving on highways will be difficult, and ice is not ruled out.

“I ask all responsible persons to stay in touch with their fellow countrymen, including on social networks. Be responsive to people’s requests. I especially appeal to motorists: be careful! When planning trips, take weather conditions into account,” Vladimir Vladimirov noted.

The governor also asked to pay attention to snow removal in courtyards and on streets.
