The St. Petersburg Transport Committee published the results of its paid parking oversight for 2025 on January 22. During this period, 912 cars were sent to impound lots, primarily due to removed or missing license plates.
Inspectors recorded over 17.5 thousand vehicles without license plates. Items that drivers were using to conceal license plates had to be removed from nearly the same number of vehicles. In addition, 7.5 thousand preventive conversations were held with car owners.
Work was also conducted separately to identify offenders occupying parking spaces for disabled people. 5.6 thousand such cases were discovered over the year.
The increase in violations is linked to a rise in paid parking tariffs, which occurred in October 2025. After this, cases of parking with covered or missing license plates became more frequent on the city«s streets, necessitating the organization of additional patrols.
