St. Petersburg to Start Designing Intercept Parking Lots
On January 29, Vice Governor Kirill Polyakov announced the start of designing multi-level intercept parking lots in St. Petersburg on the TV channel «Saint Petersburg». According to Polyakov, the creation of such facilities is necessary to regulate traffic flows, including cars heading to the city center.
The main goal is to encourage car owners to switch to public transport. For this, an incentive is provided: if you leave your car at an intercept parking lot and then use the «Podorozhnik» card twice, parking will be free.
The vice governor reminded that in 2025, an intercept parking lot near the Rybatskoye metro station and a city parking lot in Kronstadt have already opened. Also operating under a temporary scheme are a parking lot with 250 spaces near the oncology cluster in Pargolovo and a parking lot on Konushennaya Square. In total, 13 city parking lots and 18 intercept parking lots are functioning in St. Petersburg.
