St. Petersburg sees over a meter of snow this winter
During the current winter season, St. Petersburg has received over a meter of precipitation, with utility services removing thousands of cubic meters of snow daily.

The City Improvement Committee reported that snow depth in St. Petersburg reached 104 cm by late January.

According to the City Improvement Committee, as of January 28, the total snow depth in St. Petersburg since the start of winter has reached 104 centimeters (about 3 feet 5 inches). Every day, about 20,000 cubic meters of snow are removed from the streets.
Snow removal operations in the city involve daily clearance of approximately 20,000 cubic meters of snow.
Cleanup work is being carried out in trough zones, where snow is stored before disposal.
Cleanup was conducted, in particular, on the following major roads:
- Kropotkinskaya Street
- Mikhailovskaya Street
- St. Petersburg Avenue
- Botanicheskaya Street
- Boulevard Razvedchika
Currently, about 1,200 road service employees and nearly 900 units of specialized equipment are involved in clearing city areas.
