St. Petersburg issued yellow weather danger level due to frosts

A 'yellow' weather danger level has been introduced in St. Petersburg due to severe frosts expected on the night of January 26.

The press service of Smolny has issued a warning to city residents about adverse weather conditions.
According to the forecast of Roshydrometcenter (the Russian Federal Service for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring), in some areas from midnight to 10 AM on January 26, temperatures may drop to minus 20 degrees Celsius (-4°F).
The chief meteorologist of St. Petersburg, Alexander Kolesov, noted that it is still unclear which day – January 25 or 26 – will be colder. He said that variable cloudiness, which actively affects air temperature, makes it difficult to give an accurate forecast in advance.
