St. Petersburg Frost Intensifies: Temperatures to Drop to -22°C

According to the North-West Department for Hydrometeorology, clouds will disperse during the day, and practically no precipitation is expected. The wind is easterly and weak.

Nighttime temperatures were -12…-14°C (10…7°F), dropping to -17°C (1°F) in some areas. By 6:00 a.m., the air had cooled to -8.6°C (17°F). During the day, thermometers will show -10…-12°C (14…10°F).

On some road sections, black ice is possible; atmospheric pressure will not change significantly.

  • On Sunday, January 25, nighttime temperatures will be -18…-20°C (0…-4°F) (locally down to -23°C / -9°F), daytime temperatures – -14…-16°C (7…3°F) (locally down to -18°C / 0°F).

No precipitation is expected on these days, but fog and hoarfrost are possible in some places.
