Spencer Pratt Refused to Help Chris Jenner with Show Launch

Spencer Pratt claims that Chris Jenner wanted his help to launch the show «Keeping Up With the Kardashians». After her request, he refused.

In the book, Pratt recalls driving in a car with Brody Jenner when his stepmother, Chris, called him. Brody said it was weird and handed the phone to Pratt.

According to Pratt, Chris spoke in an ingratiating voice and suggested doing what he had tried to do with a show about Brody«s family, but with her family. She asked: »Want to team up and create television magic?«

Pratt admitted that he was genuinely puzzled, but Chris insisted, saying that the show would be about her daughters and Bruce Jenner, who were «eager» to do it.

However, Pratt considered Bruce Jenner (now Caitlyn Jenner) lacking in on-screen charisma. He also didn«t like that the family lived in Calabasas, in a valley he called a place »where dreams die.« He wondered who would even want to watch it.
As Pratt now understands, his prediction was mistaken. He writes that he has replayed that moment in his head millions of times, realizing that he chose a path not leading to a billion-dollar empire.
Ultimately, Chris Jenner teamed up with Ryan Seacrest, who had clout in the industry and the ability to see the opportunity. Pratt adds that if he had agreed, he would have become an executive producer of the show and gotten rich, but instead he ended up broke.
