Today, residents of Murmansk noticed black smoke coming from the pipe of the Southern boiler house. The press service of JSC Murmansk TPP (Murmanskaya TETs) explained what caused it.
«During the adjustment of heat carrier parameters, an unscheduled shutdown of the Southern boiler house«s equipment occurred due to a fault in the 35 kV power supply networks. The change in smoke color was caused by bringing the boiler equipment back online after the shutdown,» the TPP explained.
Last night, from February 3 to 4, Murmansk TPP carried out emergency repair work at the Southern boiler house. To eliminate the malfunction, part of the equipment was shut down, and 365 buildings in the Pervomaisky District temporarily remained without heating.
«In the morning, the work was completed, and heat carrier supply was restored. However, the defect could not be completely eliminated,» the press service of the TPP reported.
