Officials discussed plans for Sochi«s comprehensive development program until 2030.
Sochi Head Andrey Proshunin held negotiations with the leadership of key federal ministries during a working trip to Moscow. The meetings focused on city development, security issues, and housing and utilities.
At the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Utilities, they discussed the participation of Sochi builders in the restoration of the Donetsk People«s Republic and plans for implementing the Comprehensive Development Program for Sochi until 2030.
Additionally, emphasis was placed on current issues for Sochi — shoreline reinforcement, landslide prevention, and modernization of communal infrastructure.
— The urgency of priority measures in housing and utilities, shoreline reinforcement, and anti-landslide protection was confirmed. We are currently preparing specific proposals on facilities for consideration by an interdepartmental working group, — said Sochi Head Andrey Proshunin.
A separate meeting took place at the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, where the mayor reported on the security situation at the resort.
In Sochi, the «Safe City» system is operational, which includes nearly 4,500 surveillance cameras, river water level sensors, and over 420 warning sirens. Their number increased by a quarter last year. By April, they plan to complete the design of the next stage, which will allow the warning system to cover 90% of the city«s territory.
In case of a threat, information is promptly relayed to residents and tourists via SMS. With employees of sanatoriums, hotels, shopping centers, and railway stations, they regularly practice actions in case of emergencies.
