Sochi Authorities Address Another Landslide Near Ministerial Lakes

After another landslide in the area of the Ministerial Lakes residential complex, Sochi authorities provided official clarifications on the situation. They explained that the landslide occurred on the territory of the SNT (Horticultural Non-Profit Partnership) «Korchaginets», located higher up the slope from the residential complex. New footage is being published by the Telegram channel «ChP Sochi» (18+).
Additional footage shows the location of the landslide on the slope above the residential area.
On social media, local residents complained about a blocked road and water interruptions. Resort authorities denied this.
— Water supply and electricity supply to consumers are being provided in full. There is also no threat to the school territory — the landslide focus is at a distance from the municipal territory adjacent to the educational institution, — the official statement says.
The department emphasized that there is no threat to people«s lives and health, or to the stable operation of infrastructure. The cause of the landslide process, as before, was heavy precipitation, which led to soil oversaturation. On site, specialists from the Khostinsky District administration continue to work, conducting monitoring and clearing the area.
