This year, employees of «SIBUR-Khimprom» will launch six volunteer projects — and once again prove that changing the world for the better can be done with one«s own hands. Four of the six projects are aimed at helping children.

For employees of Perm«s SIBUR, the volunteer project competition is not just a corporate program, it»s personal stories of compassion. A special pride of the enterprise is the New Year celebration in Kudymkar. Since 2016, the company has been giving a New Year«s fairy tale to families with special needs children in the capital of the Komi-Permyak Okrug. It all started with a celebration, then theatrical performances appeared, where all roles are played by plant employees. Now every year there is a new fairy tale, plus workshops and gifts.

In 2026, the celebration will come to Kudymkar for the tenth time. In addition to the performance, guests can expect adaptive workshops and games. The project supports both children and their parents, and gives volunteers an opportunity to unleash their creative potential.

«Volunteers at our plant usually choose their favorite, closest direction and follow it through life. Some plant trees, others go to animal shelters. And we, like-minded people, help children, finding in this an outlet, inspiration, and our strength. Together with colleagues, we develop projects and submit applications, we help each other — it turns out to be maximally productive. The core of our »working group« is about 20–25 people, but during trips, husbands and wives, friends of colleagues join us. This way, kindness spreads, and our active community grows,» said Tatiana Kalinina, an expert at JSC «SIBUR-Khimprom» and the applicant of the Kudymkar New Year project.

«Curious Friends» is a natural science club for children from the Regional Children«s Sanatorium for Tuberculosis Patients. Last year, employees of Perm SIBUR already held engaging life safety lessons there, and this year they decided to return with a full-fledged program: they will conduct interesting classes in chemistry, biology, ecology, and mineralogy. Such lessons will lift the children»s spirits during rehabilitation.

The volunteer project «Together All Year Round» aims to support children with disabilities from the Children«s Assistance Center at 33 Captain Pirozhkov Street. Perm petrochemical workers have been helping the center since 2022. This year, volunteers will not only support the children but also introduce them to modern professions and active forms of leisure. There will be New Year and Maslenitsa (a Slavic holiday), creative contests, sports workshops, and environmental challenges. The project applicant is Vladimir Zamorin, a process unit operator and ambassador of the volunteer program »People Changing the World« within the social investment program »Formula of Good Deeds«.

The project «Theater of Impressions» will give children with autism spectrum disorders vivid emotions and new opportunities through creative activities. The program includes workshops and interactive sessions on natural sciences.

In the hearts of SIBUR volunteers, there is room not only for children but also for the elderly. The project «Melodies of the Soul» involves volunteer visits to the women«s department of a nursing home, Perm Center for Social Services, for heartfelt communication and support.

With another project, petrochemical workers will go to schools. Throughout the year, company employees will tell students, schoolchildren, and even kindergarteners about industrial ecology, dispel myths about it, and foster a conscious attitude towards the environment. It is symbolic that the author of «Ecological Shift» is Maria Lunkova, head of the ecology service at «SIBUR-Khimprom».

The initiatives that will be supported in Perm were chosen by SIBUR as part of the 13th Employee Volunteer Project Competition. In 2026, with grant support from the social investment program «Formula of Good Deeds», company volunteers will bring 90 initiatives to life in 24 cities where the company operates.

In total, 163 applications were submitted to the competition, and the most popular area (24% of all projects) was social protection — that which brings people closest together.
