Shakhunya Administration Cancels 5M Ruble Luxury EV Tender

The administration of the city of Shakhunya has announced a tender for a passenger car worth nearly 5 million rubles ($55,600 at current rates). According to documents on the public procurement website, the business-class vehicle is needed for «transporting officials».

The administration received permission from the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade (Minpromtorg) to purchase a Voyah Passion evr vehicle. The car, with a hybrid engine, is manufactured by Evia JSC.

The document states that the car is required for transporting the customer«s officials. The scope of use is »for use in core activities, including administrative needs«.

Updated. The Shakhunya administration has canceled the electric vehicle tender. The authorities made this decision after a «thorough analysis and reassessment of the situation».

Earlier we reported that more than 3 billion rubles ($33,333,300 at current rates) will be allocated for the construction of three new schools in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The educational institutions will be built in Chkalovsk, Lyskovo, and Volodarsk. According to the public procurement website, all of them should be ready by 2028. The educational institutions will be built under the state program «Comprehensive Development of Rural Areas». The winners of the tenders are expected to be determined in February.
