Sewage floods yard in central Chita, freezes a car
Sewage water spread along Kostyushko-Grigorovich Street in Chita (a city in Russia«s Zabaykalsky Krai, Siberia) and flooded the yard of a private house. This was reported to a correspondent of Chita.Ru on January 29 by a local resident, while Vodokanal-Chita (the local water and sewer utility) explained it as a clog.
«Every day at the same time, 9:30 p.m., sewage discharges from manholes on Krasnoarmeyskaya Street near house No. 12 flow along Kostyushko-Grigorovich Street. It floods the private sector, specifically the house at 64 Kostyushko-Grigorovich, where an elderly woman (a mother) lives, she is 78 years old. One could say she is cut off from even going to the store. Appeals have been written to Vodokanal, the prosecutor»s office, and so on, but to this day nothing has been fixed,« a Chita resident said.
She added that they had to cut off part of the gate with a grinder to be able to enter the yard, and the ice also encased a car, a toilet, and a garage.
The press service of Vodokanal-Chita responded that there was a clog there, and work is underway to eliminate it. They also promised to remove the ice.
