The persistent frosty weather in Volgograd and Volgograd Oblast has altered weekend event programs, with at least two events scheduled for Saturday, January 24, canceled.
Specifically, in the Novoanninsky district, a traditional hockey tournament for the Mayor«s Cup among youth teams from Novoanninsky was set to occur, but it was postponed to another date due to severe frosts, as reported in city communities on the morning of January 24.
In Volgograd, a kindness lesson was to begin at 1 p.m. in the Central Park of Culture and Recreation, with the Dino zoo center expected to visit with foxes and activists lecturing on animal care. However, hours before the start, park administration announced the event«s postponement, citing a sharp temperature drop.
«For the comfort of park guests and the animals from the zoo center, the event will be moved to another day,» the park stated. «The date and time will be announced separately.»
Additionally, Yandex.Weather reported that air temperature in Volgograd on the afternoon of January 24 would not exceed -13°C (9°F), and with wind and high humidity, the perceived temperature would be below -20°C (-4°F).
