Scandal at CBS News: Health Expert on the Brink of Firing

CBS News chief Bari Weiss found herself in an awkward position after media reports revealed that the network«s new employee, health expert Peter Attia, is mentioned 1,741 times in Jeffrey Epstein»s files. Attia«s hiring was announced on January 27, and just three days later, the U.S. Department of Justice released documents showing a close friendship between Attia and Epstein. In their correspondence, they exchanged crude jokes on intimate topics.

Peter Attia responded to the publication by posting a lengthy statement on social media. He apologized and expressed regret that his letters, some of which he called «embarrassing, tasteless, and unjustified,» had become public.

Attia emphasized that he was not involved in Epstein«s criminal activity and that their communication had nothing to do with sexual abuse. He also stated that he was never on Epstein»s plane or island and did not attend any dubious parties.

In his statement, the doctor recounted that he met Epstein in 2014 through a well-known female leader in healthcare. Attia admitted that he believed Epstein«s explanations regarding his conviction, calling it naivety. He also mentioned that he met with Epstein about seven or eight times, including at a dinner in 2015 with prominent heads of state.

Bari Weiss hired Attia as part of efforts to restore balance in CBS«s news division, which had been criticized for excessive »political correctness.« Now, after the scandal, the expert»s position at the television network is in question.
