Another fake «Alexander Gusev» has appeared on Telegram, warn the authorities of the Voronezh Region. From the fake account purportedly of the governor, residents may receive calls and messages — but these are scammers. This is not the first instance, and fraudsters have impersonated not only Gusev but other high-ranking officials. Grabbing a photo from the internet is no problem — and a bogus profile is ready. Maintain common sense: neither the regional head nor his deputies make random calls or messages to everyone in messengers — they are not that type of personalities.
The government asks residents not to respond to attempts at communication from such «governors» and other important administration figures, not to click on sent links, not to open files, and not to provide any personal data. Such accounts should be immediately reported for a permanent ban and complained about to the messenger«s administrators. All reliable information from Voronezh Governor Alexander Gusev on Telegram is published only in his one official channel.
Previously, Voronezh1.ru reported how provocateurs used a neural network to create a fake video with the regional head, where he allegedly asks Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko to help Voronezh residents with fuel after Ukrainian attacks.
