The head of the Saratov administration signed a decree raising the cost of the guaranteed list of funeral services, effective February 1.
According to the document, for Saratov residents without relatives or legal representatives, the municipality organizes all funeral services. This year, the total cost of a funeral is 9,678 rubles ($129 at current rates). Last year, the amount was nearly 500 rubles lower — 9,165 rubles ($122 at current rates).
This price consists of mandatory procedures such as document processing, purchasing a coffin and items used at funerals, transporting the deceased to the cemetery, and burial costs.
