Sarah Ferguson feared royal family shame in Epstein letters

New leaks of correspondence from the Jeffrey Epstein case shed light on his relationship with Sarah Ferguson, the former wife of Prince Andrew. As follows from letters published as part of the latest disclosures, Ferguson turned to Epstein for support during scandals that shook her life.

In one email from 2010, she wrote: «No woman has left the royal family with her head, and I will not be beheaded, so I will be shamed» — expressing fears for her reputation. Ferguson also complained that she was left «completely alone» after becoming the center of a scandal over allegedly receiving money for access to Prince Andrew.

According to media reports, Epstein helped Ferguson financially: he paid off her debts, which she later called a «huge mistake», and paid for flights for her and her daughters — Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice. Against the backdrop of these revelations, Sarah Ferguson«s charitable foundation announced its closure. The organization»s statement said the decision had been discussed for several months.

The correspondence shows that Ferguson continued to communicate with Epstein even after he was convicted of soliciting a minor for prostitution and registered as a sex offender. In one letter from 2009, Epstein discussed the rental of four apartments in New York for the former Duchess of York. They also talked about her advertising contracts.

Ferguson allowed herself crude comments about her daughter. In response to Epstein«s question about a trip to New York, she wrote: «Don»t know yet. Waiting for Eugenie to return from the weekend!» — using a profanity. In other messages, Ferguson called Epstein a «legend», suggested he «just marry» her, and invited him to her 50th birthday party at St. James«s Palace.
