Since the beginning of 2024, in Samara, 64 veterans of the special military operation and members of their families have been allocated free land for gardening, vegetable plots, subsistence farming, or home construction. Documents are currently being processed for another 172 applications received from SVO participants and their relatives.

— Today in Samara, there are 47 support measures for SVO fighters and their families. The quality and timeliness of support measures are monitored by Samara representatives of the Association of SVO Veterans of the region. Since the end of 2024, on the instruction of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the allocation of land plots for personal subsistence farming, horticulture, or individual housing construction has begun. For our fighters and their families, this is a very important support measure. We form and allocate land plots to veterans from the municipal fund free of charge. Over two years, 64 plots have been allocated, and preparation and documentation for the next ones continue, — said the head of Samara Ivan Noskov.

The land plots provided free of charge to SVO veterans are located in the Kuibyshevsky and Krasnoglinsky districts of Samara. Their area varies from 500 to 1000 m2.

— For fighters returning home to peaceful life, it is important to provide support at all stages. This work in Samara is carried out through the improvement of social and legal support measures not only for participants of the special military operation but also for their relatives. In this regard, the recent amendments to regional legislation are indicative, providing for the preservation of a place in the queue for a land plot for the family of a serviceman even in case of his death, — noted the deputy head of the city, participant of the «Time of Heroes» program Sergei Karasev.

A plot in Samara Oblast can be obtained by Russian citizens who have the status of combat veterans and have been awarded state awards of the Russian Federation (Hero of Russia, Order of the Russian Federation, or St. George«s Cross), received for participation in the special military operation. The same benefit extends to family members of deceased SVO participants.

All those eligible for the provision of land plots can once, with their written consent, receive a monetary payment instead of a plot — 250,000 rubles (approximately $2,500 at current rates). To date, 63 people have taken advantage of this opportunity.

The list of documents that must be submitted can be found on the website of the Samara administration.
