Ryazan to Demolish Cursed Old House on Kolkhoznaya

The condemned building on Kolkhoznaya Street remains occupied despite plans for demolition.
The house at 7 Kolkhoznaya Street, where a person recently died in a fire, will be demolished after it fully becomes city property, the Ryazan city hall said in response to a query from YA62.RU correspondent.
In September last year, the Ministry of Construction of the Ryazan Region and the city administration signed an agreement, under which Ryazan was provided a subsidy from the regional budget for relocating residents of eight dilapidated houses, regarding which, at the prosecution«s lawsuits, decisions were issued and came into force to change the demolition deadlines.
The house on Kolkhoznaya was among these. It was declared dilapidated and subject to demolition by a decree back in December 2017.
In this house, 27 rooms needed to be vacated, including five municipal and 22 private ones. To relocate tenants of municipal housing, the city hall purchased apartments on the secondary housing market, and agreements were made with owners to seize the property for municipal ownership with compensation payments.
Meanwhile, one family applied to the city administration for housing from the flexible stock. The request was granted.
In the administration«s response, it is stated that agreements have already been made with the owners of 15 residential units to seize the real estate for municipal ownership. For all these agreements, the city paid the due compensations to the owners last year.
This year, the city hall will continue to buy apartments and pay compensations. And as clarified by the city hall, the house can only be demolished after all residential units in the house are free from third-party rights.
Currently, as local residents said, one person still lives in the house. And at the end of last year, a person died there in a fire. Before that, residents of the house had been seeking relocation from the dilapidated house for many years, appealing to various authorities and even recording video appeals to the governor of the Ryazan Region and the president of Russia. Now, the owner of one of the apartments in the dilapidated house is seeking an investigation into her neighbor«s death in the fire. She is convinced that the cause of the tragedy was the negligence of responsible officials, due to which the dilapidated house was not relocated for so long.
