Ryazan Kindergarten Freezes, Mayor's Office Says 19 Degrees Normal

A resident of the village of Podvyazye, 17 kilometers from Ryazan, complained about the cold in the kindergarten. It is the only one in the entire settlement, but there, according to one of the mothers, Anna, the temperature is allegedly only 11 degrees Celsius (52°F).
The administration of the Ryazan district denied that it is 11 degrees in the Podvyazyevsky kindergarten. But they acknowledged that it is not very warm there.
“Together with the kindergarten«s management, we daily monitor compliance with the temperature regime. Today in the kindergarten it is 19 degrees Celsius (66°F), which corresponds to the norm,” stated the local mayor»s office.
According to Rospotrebnadzor (Russia«s Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing), in the playrooms of all groups, the temperature should be maintained at a level from +21 to +23 degrees Celsius (70–73°F), and in bedrooms — from +19 to +20 degrees Celsius (66–68°F).
And they added that the heating system in the kindergarten was completely replaced three years ago. Although during periods of severe frost, the temperature in some groups did drop below the norm.
In such cases, as asserted by the administration, additional thermal curtains were immediately turned on to maintain warmth.
