Russian taxi service Drivee sums up New Year holidays in Omsk

The Russian taxi service Drivee analyzed user activity during the winter holidays (from December 31 to January 12). The analytics showed a change in transport habits of Omsk residents during the holidays, from celebrating the New Year directly during a trip to a record mileage on festive days.

Drivee users in Omsk covered over a million kilometers during the holiday period.

For some users, the celebration literally began on the road. According to Drivee data, in Omsk seven passengers welcomed 2026 in a taxi, which was the number of trips made during the peak interval of New Year«s night from 23:50 on December 31 to 00:15 on January 1. Across the country, this number was 240 users.

In total, during the holiday weekend (from December 31 to January 12), Drivee users in the city covered over a million kilometers. The largest number of orders was on January 1. That day saw the main flow of trips, with some users returning home after celebrations, while others, on the contrary, went to congratulate friends and relatives.

On average, one trip in the city during this period took 14 minutes. A record trip of 30 kilometers lasted almost an hour.

Service analysts note that trip scenarios during the holidays traditionally shifted from business to entertainment. Thus, shopping and entertainment centers, as well as the railway station, were among the top popular destinations — many used the long weekend for tourist trips.
