Russian ride-hailing service Drivee sums up New Year holidays in Tolyatti
Some users literally began their New Year celebrations during a taxi ride.
The Russian ride-hailing service Drivee analyzed user activity during the winter holidays (from December 31 to January 12). The analytics revealed a shift in the transportation habits of Tolyatti residents during the break, from celebrating the New Year mid-trip to record-breaking mileage on festive days.
For some users, the holiday literally began on the road. According to Drivee data, five passengers in Tolyatti welcomed 2026 inside a taxi, with that exact number of trips occurring during the peak interval of New Year«s Eve from 23:50 on December 31 to 00:15 on January 1. Nationwide, this figure was 240 users.
In total, during the holiday period (December 31 to January 12), Drivee users in the city collectively covered over 560 thousand kilometers. The highest number of orders was on January 1. That day saw the main flow of trips, with some users returning home after celebrations, while others, conversely, set out to congratulate friends and relatives.
On average, one trip in the city during this period took 10 minutes. A record-setting trip covered 31 kilometers and lasted almost 40 minutes.
Service analysts note that trip scenarios during the holidays traditionally shifted from business to leisure. Thus, shopping and entertainment centers, as well as the railway station, ranked among the top popular destinations—many used the long weekend for tourist trips.
