The announcement of the completion of the sale of the Main Post Office in St. Petersburg was published on the GIS «Torgi» portal on January 30. The buyer was the Energy Interregional Holding Association (EMKhO).
The property includes a land plot of 7.4 thousand square meters and a building with a total area of 13.7 thousand square meters. The deal amounted to 1.5 billion rubles (approximately $16.5 million at current rates).
EMKhO is registered in Moscow in 2004 and has no equity capital. Its general director and owner is Alisa Strelkova, who also heads the St. Petersburg firm «Karpi,» which specializes in real estate rental and management.
The initial selling price of the property was 1.2 billion rubles (approximately $13.2 million at current rates). Russian Post planned to sell the Main Post Office as a non-core asset. Previously, a project was considered to include the building in the «Postal Quarter» redevelopment. The building is a federal monument, and in 2025, the Committee for the Protection of Monuments filed a lawsuit demanding its restoration.
