Many residents of Rostov-on-Don are dissatisfied with how municipal services are handling snow removal. According to their observations, clearing has been done exclusively on central highways, while in residential areas people are forced to wade through snowdrifts. Here are some of the complaints received from city residents:

  • «In the courtyard at Kosmonavtov 41a and b, the sidewalk hasn»t been cleared for over a week. There wasn«t even an attempt during this time! At the beginning of January, they cleared near the building entrances and that was it. What are we paying for? There»s a janitor, but the work is endless. And their hands don«t do it. Where is the management company (upravlyayushchaya kompaniya) looking?»
  • «Every 10th car [in the courtyard] gets stuck, and drivers are pushing it. A child watches from the window and counts. So the statistics are accurate.»
  • «The center isn»t cleared either. Varfolomeeva 229 — as usual, the courtyard is piled high.«
  • »We drove along Portovaya Street, didn«t see a single snowplow. Dovator Street from Malinovsky is completely uncleared.»
  • «I went out to the bus stop — the road is cleared. Yes, side streets are snowed in, but where the traffic goes, it»s clean.«
  • »The main avenues, of course, are clean. But if you look at Zhmaylova Street and the courtyards up to Stachki — it«s terrible.»
  • «Alexandrovka is in such a state of neglect, it seems they only came out to clean Voroshilovsky and Sadovaya.»
