Rostov Authorities Report More Snowplows, But Drifts Remain

A reader notes that while central roads are clear, many areas still have deep snowdrifts.
Due to heavy snowfall in Rostov, more equipment has been deployed to clear streets, said city head Alexander Skryabin. But many residents remain dissatisfied with the snow removal.
«Utility services are working both night and day to ensure safe movement around the city, and since the start of the work week, Rostov residents have been able to get to work without trouble,» Skryabin wrote on his Telegram channel.
The number of vehicles clearing roads has been increased to 177. Additionally, 42 more vehicles were brought in «for rapid snow removal.» In total, 2,500 tons have been hauled away.
However, many readers of 161.RU remain unhappy with the quality of the cleanup.
«I don»t know. On Severny, over all these days, only yesterday did five Quadro vehicles speed around the circle towards the rink, and that«s it! The snowdrifts and slush are everywhere, just as they were.»
«Alexandrovka is in such a mess that it seems they only cleaned Voroshilovsky and Sadovaya.»
«219 units of equipment—that»s for cleaning one district, not the whole city.«
Problems are also mentioned in the comments under Alexander Skryabin«s post.
«Izluchistaya—not cleaned at all. We»re waiting for warmer weather when it melts on its own.«
Complaints are also directed at the work of management companies:
«With us, still no one has cleaned anything. Zhmaylova, Stachki, Milchakova—in the courtyards, no one has cleaned anything. It»s impossible to walk.«
