Rosseti North-West Replaces Fifth Damaged Support on Power Line

Specialists of «Rosseti Severo-Zapad» (Rosseti North-West) replaced the fifth damaged support on the power line.

«We are installing wires and preparing to switch on another power line. This will allow fully restoring the standard power supply scheme of Murmansk», reported the press service of «Rosseti Severo-Zapad» (Rosseti North-West).

After the line is switched on, the temporary wooden structures will be removed. A permanent metal support will be installed in their place.

Recall that parts of Murmansk and Severomorsk were again left without power on 31 January. Andrei Chibis reported on the causes of the repeated outage.

Public transport in Murmansk was switched to a special mode of operation, and street lighting was turned off. All classes on Saturday were canceled for schoolchildren in Murmansk. We reported which supermarkets were forced to temporarily close. The Murmansk Commercial Sea Port (MMTP) also suspended its work.

The Prosecutor«s Office of the Murmansk Region has already launched an investigation due to the mass power outages in the region on 23 January, and a criminal case has been opened. It turned out that the fallen power line supports had served for almost 60 years.
