Information about the start of the inspection came from the agency«s official response to a request from the editorial office of V1.RU.

The reason for the appeal was a report from a well-known Volgograd animal rights activist Alina Yerina. She discovered her son«s data in the Telegram channel »Freaks of Volgograd«.

Alina Yerina said:

It turns out there is a Telegram channel with an audience of over five thousand people where personal photos and data of children are posted, they are insulted obscenely and calls for violence against these children and teenagers are made. Information about my child ended up there, and I found out about it. We would like to bring this to light and sort out the situation. What is happening is terrible. These are all children from our city.

Screenshots attached to the appeal confirm the publication of photos of teenagers and obscene texts containing calls for violence.

Parents of the affected children planned to file a collective statement with the police. The editorial office of V1.RU sent requests to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Volgograd Oblast (GU MVD) and the regional Roskomnadzor. The controlling agency reported that after considering the complaint, it sent a request to Telegram to delete personal data. The response from the police had not been received at the time of preparing the material.
