Roadside Cafe Ogonyok Closed for Multiple Violations

Rospotrebnadzor inspectors closed the roadside cafe Ogonyok in Shchyokinsky District, Tula Region, in January after finding numerous violations. The closure followed a customer contracting an intestinal infection.

In Shchyokinsky District, Tula Region, the roadside cafe Ogonyok was temporarily shut down due to multiple violations, the regional office of Rospotrebnadzor (the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing) reported.

Inspectors found the following violations:

  • lack of production control at the facility
  • food products were accepted without labels or accompanying documents
  • defects and damage to the interior finish
  • employees did not undergo periodic medical examinations and hygiene certification

The inspection was launched after a customer contracted an intestinal infection.

Meanwhile, reviews for the establishment are quite high. Users rated it 4.8 out of 5. The only negative review in the past year was about the food — reportedly, the stuffed cabbage rolls had little meat, and the solyanka soup was «just broth with olives».
