Residents of the village of Shchedrino in the Yaroslavl Region faced deletion of their comments and temporary blocking on the official page of Governor Mikhail Evrayev on the social network VKontakte.
According to the group «It Happened in Rybinsk», this occurred after people in a restrained manner appealed to the head of the region for help in the situation with multi-hour power and heating outages.
The press service of the Yaroslavl Region government explained the principles of moderators« work.
In the governor of Yaroslavl Region»s accounts on social networks and messengers, comments that contain rude and offensive statements and tone, and have signs of spam are deleted. The authors of these messages receive temporary blocking.the department reported.
Complaints about similar actions by the administrators of the governor«s page have appeared before.
The incident occurred against the backdrop of an emergency power outage in Shchedrino on January 23 and 24, 2026, during severe frosts. Power supply was fully restored by the evening of January 24.
The power supply disruptions led to the initiation of a criminal case under Article 238 of the Russian Criminal Code (provision of services that do not meet safety requirements). The investigation was taken under personal control by the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin.
