Residents of Sochi's Teplichnaya Street Complain of Mud After Landslide

Residents of Teplichnaya Street in Sochi, where a landslide occurred, are complaining about mud. According to them, the street remains slippery, hindering both pedestrians and drivers.

«After the mudflow in the Teplichnaya Street area, it»s all mud, wet, and slippery. People struggle to pass this section, and transport isn«t allowed through,» report local residents.
In turn, the Sochi Municipal Control Unit (MTS) informs that work at the emergency site is ongoing around the clock and «positive results» have been achieved. They even back up their words with photographs. According to the Sochi authorities« press service, in the last 24 hours alone, 48 trucks of soil have been removed. The landslide movement has been halted.
«According to specialists from the administration of the Khostinsky intra-city district, since the incident occurred on January 20, 2026, until today, responsible specialists and equipment have been working around the clock, including duty officers monitoring the situation on site,» states the official message.
The MTS claims that traffic on the street has been fully restored, except for moments when heavy machinery partially occupies the lane. To avoid creating traffic jams, during peak hours, work is halted and manual traffic regulation is introduced, including with the involvement of traffic police officers.
Meanwhile, heavy rain is forecast for tomorrow in Sochi. If the remaining mass of soil is not removed, landslide processes could reactivate.
