A solar halo was observed over Saratov and Engels this morning. This was reported on January 28 by subscribers of the Telegram channel «Saratov: Opened/Closed».
«Some saw it in full – the sun and a glowing semicircle around it, others got only a piece of the winter rainbow, and some (me) slept through it all,» added channel author Maria Aleksashina in the caption.
In the fall, a similar effect was observed in Saratov. Saratov scientist Maxim Chervyakov explained its origin.
