Residents of Karl Marx Street angered by new elevator breakdowns

Residents of building No. 168 on Karl Marx Street in Magnitogorsk are indignant over breakdowns of the new elevator. The equipment often fails; the last time it broke down was during the New Year holidays, and the repair was delayed. However, the payment for the elevator in the bills is in perfect order: it is charged regularly, the Magnitogorsk residents claim. A MGORSK.RU correspondent found out what is wrong with the elevator and whether apartment owners will receive a recalculation.
A resident of the building, Olga, told us that the old elevator was replaced with a new one about a year ago. During this time, several breakdowns occurred, which were fixed quickly. During the New Year holidays, the elevator broke down again and did not work until this week, Olga assured.
«I have thoughts about moving to a five-story building without an elevator. I just don»t understand what I should pay for, and the elevator bills keep coming. The old elevator worked, why was it replaced?« laments the resident.
The management company «DomExpert,» which services the building, confirmed that the elevator indeed broke down more than once over the year. At the moment, the breakdown has been fixed. Residents were promised a recalculation without red tape.
«The elevator is working. There was a malfunction in the electronic unit. It was repaired. Installed. For all the days the elevator was idle, a recalculation will be made. You don»t need to go anywhere. We ourselves give an instruction to the ERCC to reduce the payment,« responded the management company.
Note that Magnitogorsk residents are not the first to complain about new elevator breakdowns. For example, in another building on Karl Marx Street, they waited for elevator repair for two months. Because of this, a teenage wheelchair user could not get to the doctors.
